Virtual law firm, Rankin & Co, has grown by over 100% since April 2017. Staff now number 16 and revenue has pushed beyond $3M.

Brisbane, workplace relations expert, Steve Gifford is the latest addition to the firm.

“I have a young family and had considered creating my own virtual firm, so when Rankin & Co. outlined their business model and ask me to join, they were pushing me through an open door” advised Steve. Steve complements the existing Workplace Relations practice of Rankin & Co, adding his considerable OHS expertise.

Rob Roy Rankin credits the firm’s focus on employee experience as the key driver behind its substantial growth. As highlighted by Lawyers Weekly on 6th April 2018, Rankin & Co. has been built from the ground up to “create a virtual workplace with a culture of adventure, innovation and fun”.

Key elements of Rankin & Co.’s business model include allowing employees the flexibility, mobility and autonomy to work when and where suits them best; a flat structure i.e. no hierarchy or silos; and equipping staff with the IT equipment and cloud-based software to make this a reality.

In addition to Steve Gifford, several other partner level and senior lawyer recruits nationally are in discussion with Rankin & Co.
